We are in Eastertide

We are in the Easter season in the church. Alleluia!

Characterised by the use of white and gold fabrics, flowers, and and upbeat spirit in the church, our services reflect the joy of the resurrection of Christ, celebrated from Easter Sunday for 7 weeks. Readings are focussed on the life of the early church in the book of Acts, and on the appearances and miracles of Jesus between Easter and the Ascension.

The word Alleluia (Sometimes spelled Hallelujah) is used a lot during this period - meaning "Praise the Lord" the word reminds us that the resurrection is a happy occasion and that God is worthy of praise.

Services

  • Easter Day: The Easter Day service will include an opportunity to rener our baptismal vows at the font as part of the service. There will also be the flicking of holy water (Know as Asperges) over all to remind us that we are all involved through baptism in the life and resurreection of Jesus.
